Apex Hospital

Jaipur

The key factors incorporated in the design are multiple backups to critical zones, faster transfer of goods resulting in the entire infrastructure behaving like one, making the corridors race track systems with multiple lift access so that there is redundancy within the infrastructure. Disaster prevention system was installed by creating fire separation between the zones and each zone by itself is able to fight the fire. Mitigation was up making threaded inside the building for signaling and fighting. Brain zones for IT / electrical were created for each floor in the core area and held other clinical activities like tele ICU, chute points, floor leadership cabin, etc. Sample collection was made easily accessible as it was paired with pneumatic shoot system which carried the goods to and from any point of the building.

The very strategic intervention was included which enabled these upgrades. The zoning itself was done understanding the footfall by year marking the critical and non critical zones in a manner so that there is always a smooth flow in the building. The oncology section which was a new addition to the services was consolidated in one floor along with the building of bunker in the basement for the radiation machine.

Project is a fine example of the adaptation of the holistic approach towards patient care and providing an ambience of user centric environment from Patient/ Doctor / Service standpoints.

The approach to the rooms/ ICU was very much hotel centric to provide residential peace and give away the typical hospital feeling. The sound and natural light played a vital role in designing the rooms and ICU. The hospital offers path finding colours, light stimulus and soundscape environment to give the patients an atmosphere of healing. The administration facility was positioned in a way that the gap between the administration and patient expectation is bridged. The corridors were designed with good acoustics, good soundscape, no echo. Floors were made quite open by taking out many walls. The counseling rooms were placed at a distance to have a transparent policy coherent.

Hand wash, sanitation, air curtains and other types of infection control systems were put but fresh air free of particles was made available from the central greens as it was away from road dust. Thus by strategically placing the fresh air source, the indoor air quality was managed. All these small interventions put together greatly improved the visuals and feeling inside the hospital maintaining the freshness and eliminating the monotony of a typical hospital. The facade was designed with an arrangement of windows, solids, greens which depicted simplicity with a human touch and which was carried forward to the deeper sections of the hospital inside.

While the key speciality being multi trauma and critical care, the building offers a very light and collaborative environment for staff to work. For attendants and patients, care was delivered with softness and awareness.
